Last night was the vernissage of David Hochbaums latest solo show titled ‘Kaidan Shu – tales of mist and wind’.
Fans and collectors of David’s work saw him divert into a darker and more personal territory for his latest collection. His fascination with the japanese culture and mythology were the essence of the this show, and as you can see from the photos below this collection looks stunning.
Once again the gallery was completely transformed into its own curious space. With neon lights, yakitori, and girls in custom kimonos the gallery was like walking into a japanese parlour.
The vernissage was a huge success and was really well received by all. We are all super proud of David for putting together such an amazing and intricate collection of work.
We would also like to thank Monika Alschwieg of ‘MOA’ for displaying her elegant hand-made kimonos. You can view her creations here.
The show will run until July 10th, so if you’re in the neighbourhood you would be crazy not to drop in for a look.
