The official blog for everything relating to the former Strychnin Crew & Urban Nation
As the year is drawing closer to the end, Strychnin is just warming up! Yasha and the Strychnin Team have been working very hard on a variety of projects that are now coming to fruition… These include Strychnin Artists now participating in the MACRO (Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome) exhibition ‘Apocalypse WOW!’, two big shows in November and December and yashayoung.com.
We are proud to announce that four very special Strychnin Artists will be presenting their work in the MACRO in November, along with such artists as Ron English, Shepard Fairey and Camilla Rose Garcia. These artists are:
We are proud to be associated with this special event and and very excited to be a part of making this happen. Yasha will also contribute an essay that will be published in the Catalogue.
As most of you know, October is a busy month for Strychnin, with not only a huge show from David Hochbaum, but another year for us at ART FAIR 21. Yasha has been part of the Jury for the past two years of this prestigious Art Fair, and there are more developments for Yasha and Art Fair 21 to be announced soon! We are very excited in this development of Yasha’s career, and the association of this that will help the Gallery rise to the next level.
To go along with this move in Yasha’s career, she has developed a very special website that can let her move outside of just the Strychnin Gallery realm, and can allow her to also curate and show off some special artists we have at the gallery. Check it out here.
Mark Ryden’s “Fushigi Circus” book
In November we will have our huge ‘Magistrates’ show which will co-incide with the European book launch of ‘Fushigi Circus’ by Mark Ryden which will be in The Vault at the Gallery, where we will also have some very special prints available for this event- of which were previously sold out or unavailable. In the front room, we will be knocking the socks off everyone with a great lineup of artists including Ray Caesar, Chet Zar, David Hochbaum and Jon Jaylo just to name a few. The 25+ lineup will jam pack Strychnin, starting on the 13th of November.
One of Shag’s pieces for December!
December sees Strychnin washing the winter blues away with a Tiki Christmas show, titled “AN X – MAS LUAU!” We will have a huge show with painted Ukuleles, original works and sculptures and a great after party organised by our friends Roadrunners Paradise (www.roadrunners-paradise.de). Artists included in this shin-dig include SHAG, KRK Ryden, Moritz R, Chris Bonobo and Haikai.
All of the events mentioned here will be blogged about closer to the time, but hopefully this gives you a taste of the great things to come over the next few months here at Strychnin Gallery!
