The official blog for everything relating to the former Strychnin Crew & Urban Nation
She may be a busy lady, between tattooing and flying from one tattoo convention to another, but Kat von D. makes time out of her busy schedule to cooperate with the youth-based breast cancer prevention organization, Keep a Breast. Keep a Breast’s journey has taken them around the world mediating awareness and action into breast cancer prevention in various ways. One of them is breast-casting female artists, musicians, actresses, etc. and sending them around the globe so they could be painted on by international artists. Here are some pictures of Kat von D. during the process and one after the cast dried out. Kat is excited and proud to be an activist for such a serious topic that has been floating around in the background of society, not gaining the awareness and intervention it should. Through her advocacy, she can spread the knowledge about breast cancer; it’s prevention, it’s risks, and how to cope with breast cancer in someone beloved.
The Cast and it’s Owner

Kat’s Cast was adorned by the amazingly meticulous, digital german artist Mimi S. Here’s how it turned out!
The cast will be presented as part of the Keep a Breast exhibition in our following show, C.O.P: Guide to Etiquette. If you want to see it up-close, you’ll have to stop by Strychnin Gallery. The show opens on the 12th of August!
