The official blog for everything relating to the former Strychnin Crew & Urban Nation
Like two halves becoming one, it all came together last night. Promptly, at seven o’clock sharp, walked in the first guest of the evening. The opening of the anticipated “Requiem” show brought many familiar aswell as new faces to the gallery.
After a jet-lagged week of work and a two straight weeks of setting-up (down) different shows (ArtFair), David Hochbaum and David Stoupakis, gathered all their energies to greet and meet a nice and amusingly heterogenous crwod. They worked day and night to turn the front room of the gallery into an enchantful book entry. The entire room became one unity; one piece of art. Enhanced with the beautiful performance to Mozart’s Requiem by greek dancer, Fenia, the evening was a succesful Gesamtkunstwerk; a synthesis of the arts. Art and beauty to all your senses.
However, let us not forget the back room, our “Vault”, where german illustrator, Katrin Rodegast, mischievously tricked viewers with her paper installations. We were also very pleased that she was present and enjoyed an evening with us!
So, thank you for all of those who turned up and made last night an evening easy to appreciate. Yet, if you couldn’t make it last night, this show runs until the 2nd of December, so don’t miss it!
