“The Raven” interpreted by Kathryn Carr

Another little sneak peek and some background on all the wonderful pieces and stories we will feature in this show!

“The Raven” a story about the loss of love and the reappearance of souls in form of birds is Poe’s Ode to undying devotion. This story and its release in 1845 made Poe a household name almost immediately and readers began to identify poet with poem. He became a guest of honor at literary salons and yet financially could not advance much and stay penniless. He did sell the poem to The American Review which paid him $9 for it.
