Nomi Chi’s Boxed Beauties

Illustrator and tattoo artist from Vancouver, Canada, Nomi Chi is one of the artists participating in our upcoming show, “Monster’s Lullaby”, opening July 19th. We’re ever so grateful and excited to work with Canadian artists, as the underground art scene over there has been exploding in the past few years. Canada is a melting-pot for young creatives (much like Berlin) and we are proud to solidify the bridge that crosses over to different art worlds.

For “Monster’s Lullaby”, Nomi Chi created two pieces, “Bunnyboy” and “Foxgirl”. A pair of younglings yearning to set their spirits free, so they dress themselves up and run into the wild. Nomi Chi, therefore presents her creatures in a wooden box representing the “stage” where they are trapped.

Her pieces evoke an innocent melancholic state which allures the viewer to take a closer look.
